Ruth Hossein

I run the operations behind large live events — venues, accreditation, delegations, rights holders. The part that has to work before anyone notices it exists.

SCALE

The operations I have been responsible for.

9+

years in international sports events

13

venues coordinated at the Buenos Aires 2018 Olympic Park

300+

staff across 30 functional areas

40,000

daily spectators served

10

countries covered for CONMEBOL competitions

300+

matches delivered per season

60,000+

accreditations and 300,000 tickets per season

400+

athletes and officials from 26 national federations

RANGE

Football is where the appointments are right now. It is not the range.

I came into events from the field of play: Argentina national team in Olympic weightlifting and Olympic wrestling, South American medalist in 2013. Then the Youth Olympic Games, wrestling championships, futsal, football, live broadcast.

Every one of them runs on the same spine — a schedule that cannot slip, a venue with competing tenants, delegations and rights holders who need access, and a chain of command that has to hold the moment something goes wrong. The discipline changes. The operation does not.

LEGACY

The part that outlives the event.

Operations get forgotten the day after. Documentation does not — these are still in use:

The first Club Manuals for CONMEBOL Libertadores and Sudamericana.

A redesign of CONMEBOL’s annual Venue Manager workshops around real operational incidents — still standard practice today.

The Policies and Procedures Manual for the Buenos Aires 2018 Olympic Park.

Issue trackers and risk registers used across three seasons of continental competition.
